A Story That Should Never Have Happened…

Around this time last year, I wrote a short story about the day the Mary Rose sank back in 1545, told through the eyes of a young lady-in-waiting to the wife of the Vice-Admiral. I worked as a volunteer tour guide and shop assistant at the Mary Rose Museum in the summer of 2013, before I left Hampshire for university. That summer, although exhausting, was the best summer of my life, and I often long to be back wandering through the galleries, long kirtle swishing with the movement of my footsteps…

But, enough of me being poetic or wistful for what has been. Here is the story, published on the museum blog, for Museum Week’s Inspiration Day. I hope you enjoy!
